What a week it’s been! I’ve had a fantastic time working with 16 very dedicated writers in the second week of my Summer Writing Classes in Wanchai; 8 kids in the morning (at left, above) and 8 more in the afternoon (at right, above)! It’s been a lot of hard work, but a lot of fun too! Tomorrow is the best day of all, when everyone gets to hear the stories that their new friends have written – I can’t wait!

HOORAY!
There has been a fabulous response to my Summer Writing Classes in August, with 3 classes already fully booked, and still more interest in yet another class! So today I’m very happy to tell you that I’ll be running a further Sarah Brennan Summer Writing Class from Monday 22nd to Friday 26th August!
Details below:
SARAH BRENNAN’S SUMMER WRITING CLASS
So if you’re from 8 to 12 years old, and live in Hong Kong, and want to brush up your writing skills before you start the new school year, here’s your chance, in a fun, hands-on writing workshop! I look forward to working with you!

It’s fabulous to be back in Singapore! Yesterday I had a wonderful day with the Grade 4s, 5s and 6s at beautiful big Canadian International School Lakeside, where I introduced the kids to my Chinese Calendar Tales, and especially to my mischievous Ming Kee Monkey and my dashing Dark Horse! We finished the day with the Grade 4s learning all about How to Write a Riveting Story! I look forward to all your entries in my next Clever Competition! Huge thanks to the lovely Lisa Miller, Head of Senior Library, for being such a kind and welcoming host!

Today I was so happy to visit my friends at Shatin Junior School again for my How to Write a Riveting Story Workshop with the wonderful Year 4s! But I’m also very sad to be finishing my three day visit too! You can cheer me up again by entering my Clever Competition (see tab above), and if the Year 4s use that Story Planning Sheet to plan their stories, I’m sure they’re going to be fantastic! And thanks for the lovely book orders! You’ll have them all by next week!

A great day with my friends at DBIS!

A big HELLOOOO to my old friends, the kids and teachers of Discovery Bay International School, where I spent a very happy day on Friday! The Year 5s and 6s unscrambled limericks, identified haikus, invented acrostics and rhymed tricky words in my Introduction to Poetry workshop; the Year 1s and 2s learnt all about what it’s like to be an author, and the Year 3s and 4s heard my Tale of Ming Kee Monkey! It was great to be with you all again! Warm thanks to Naomi Gist, DBIS Library Co-ordinator, my fantastic host for the day!
Another day of publishing workshops at Shatin Junior School!

Many thanks to the Fabulous Five Year 5 teachers at Shatin Junior for having me again today, to talk to their business-minded students about the ins and outs of publishing your own book, from Brilliant Idea to Final Product! I look forward to seeing all your creations on the bookshelves of bookstores in Hong Kong in the years to come! See you all again next Tuesday!
