On Saturday afternoon Harry Harrison and I launched our latest Chinese Calendar Tale, The Tale of Desmond Dog, at Bookazine in Princes Building – our 14th annual book launch together since 2004! Huge thanks to the brave parents and kids who came along notwithstanding the primary school closures on Thursday due to the flu epidemic! And thanks also to Mr KK Mok, our excellent printer from Zhongtian Colour Printing (HK) P/L, who kindly sent me this great photo.
After I gave a fun story reading, Harry entertained us all with his usual quiz for one and all from 3 years old and up. Then as the crowd enjoyed snacks and delicious drinks generously supplied by Heidi Walsh at Ganymede Ltd, Harry and I signed books purchased by our lovely fans! Many thanks to Bookazine for hosting another fun event for us! Many more photos to come!
Join Harry Harrison and me for a Cockadoodle Book Launch on Saturday 21st January!

If you’re as excited as I am to get rid of that mischievous Monkey and start a brand new, fabulous Year of the Rooster, then what better way to celebrate than to come to the Hong Kong Launch of my latest book, illustrated by Harry Harrison – The Tale of Rickshaw Rooster! It’s a hilariously funny story about a noisy, cocky but very loyal Rooster who dares to take on all the foreign very-important-people at Shanghai’s Annual Race! You’re going to love it! See your official invitation below. Don’t forget to RSVP with Bookazine on enquiries@bookazine.com.hk or phone 2522-1785 or register on Face Book at https://www.facebook.com/events/1844568015815956/ as numbers are limited…
See you there with your finest feathers on!

I had a wonderful time at the Hong Kong launch of Room To Read’s BuyABookGiveABook campaign last night at Bookazine in Princes Building! For the rest of September, when you buy any of 50 fabulous titles at one of Bookazines stores at Princes Building, Exchange Square, Lyndhurst Terrace, Repulse Bay or the Shui On Centre, a local language book for a child in an underdeveloped country will be funded by Bookazine! These books include titles by Hong Kong’s Room To Read Writer Ambassadors Bhakti Mhatur, Nury Vittachi and myself 🙂 , Kids Fest books, and books by Room To Read founder John Woods (see top right!). All books included in the campaign have a fun sticker attached to help you find them.
John Woods gave an inspiring talk about the fabulous work Room To Read are doing, reaching literacy targets ahead of time in their quest to end illiteracy for all children, everywhere. Read more about Room To Read’s amazing work building libraries and schools, and publishing local language books, for kids in underdeveloped countries (and find out how you can get involved) here: http://www.roomtoread.org/
If you’d like to support the BuyABookGiveABook campaign, just pop along to one of the above Bookazine stores this September! You can update your collection of Sarah Brennan books at the same time 🙂 !
