If you live in Hong Kong and you love wild animals as much as I do, and would like to meet someone who has travelled to some of the most exciting countries in the world to photograph them up close and personal, then you’re in for a treat! This Sunday my dear friend and fellow author Jan Latta is launching her fantastic Diary of a Wildlife Photographer at Bookazine at Princes Building from 3pm to 4.30pm. Come and hear Jan speak about her exciting adventures in the wilds of Africa, India, China and Borneo, with lions, leopards, tigers and even pandas and chimpanzees! Your official invitation is right here! Space is limited so ask Mum and Dad to let Bookazine know that you’re coming!

Come on a great adventure with Jan Latta

Thank you to Norwegian International School!

One of Hong Kong’s best kept secrets is the very special Norwegian International School at Tai Po, where I spent a very happy day today meeting all the kids, teachers and mums and dads in a great big assembly, a fun reading session for the lower primary kids, a writing workshop for the upper primary kids and a presentation to the parents on How to Create Bookworms in the Internet Age! Here I am with the headmaster, fellow Tasmanian Aaron Wise, and the wonderful Deputy Head, Bonnie Chan. Thank you for your warm welcome and a special day!

At last the results are out in my latest Clever Competition! And what a great competition it was! We had entries from ten different schools in Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Melbourne in Australia! The stories were really riveting, with mystery and treachery, evil emperors and mighty dragons, wicked spells and crafty riddles galore! I had a wonderful time reading them all, but a terrible time picking the winners – they were all so exciting and enjoyable to read! Congratulations to the 6 winning entries, which you’ll find posted on my Clever Competitions page above! And extra special congratulations to First Place winners Kairavi Sivasankar of Grade 3, UWCSEA Dover in Singapore (Grade 1 to 3 Section) and Grace Hsu of Grade 6, Morrison Academy Kaohsiung in Taiwan (Grade 4 to 6 Section) for their fantastic stories, which win them a free signed copy of one of my books!

Have patience, my friends….

Precious and Bright Idea

A big congratulations to the 17 fabulous writers who spent their precious holidays and leisure time in penning 17 equally fabulous mystery stories set in Beijing’s magnificent Forbidden City! I’ve been having so much fun reading them, but you’ll have to be patient…I’m still pondering my decision!

I’ll be announcing the 3 finalists in each age group very soon – so bear with me!

Time’s up!
